We had our story boards at the ready to film the first scene! This scene included a sequence of Jazz passing a group of students at the school in order to show the character's loneliness and isolation.
The extras are a group of year 12 students that we asked to participate in our filming. The reason they had to be members of the school's sixth form is because Jazz is not in uniform, we felt this was helpful because we would be able to use the costume to reflect the character's mood. It would have been too big of a difference if the character was shown passing students at a much younger age than her and in uniform as it is then a given that she will be left out. In this situation the audience are more likely to sympathize with her as the people are seen to be the same as her however they are still shown to be of a higher authority as there are many of them and only Jazz.
