BFI & FilmOxford Course

Over the past couple of months I took part in a 10 day film course organised by the BFI and run by Film Oxford.

During this ten day course I was able to make connections with a group of people my age with the same enthusiasm and interest in media.

We made a short film production which allowed every member of the group to rotate job positions, whether that was directing, sound, camera, acting etc. It gave us all a chance to learn skills that we otherwise wouldn't have done.

we had a few visitors from the film and TV industry as well as gaming. each of the speakers gave an introduction workshop to their specialty. This included screen writing, CGI/animation, documentaries, critics and gaming worlds.

Personally I enjoyed learning about screen writing the best as i feel that the way in which a story in communicated from start to finish is valid when it comes to producing a good production where the operators from each stage work as a team.

I learnt a variety of new skills and hope i am able to apply them effectively to my A2 prodution
